Dear Human Resources Manager,

I want to express my deep interest in winning an exciting and challenging
Sales position in your company. Following is a brief of what I had done in the
past and is presented in a more concise way in the attached resume.

I have a Bachelor�s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Institute of
Technology B.H.U., one of the premier Engineering Institutes of India and one
of the six Indian Institutes of Technology (I.I.T.'s), recognized by
universities all over the world. After graduating, I worked as a Sales Engineer
for approximately one and a half years for Bajaj Auto Ltd., one of the largest
automotive manufacturers in India. I started as an Engineer Trainee and learned
about the company�s various Engineering operations that go into the designing,
testing and manufacturing of a world class product. This enabled me to
efficiently sell the company�s products on its strong technical features. As a
Sales Engineer, I was responsible for increasing the sales of two-wheelers,
three-wheelers and motor-cycles in the Western Region after making the best use
of company�s resources available to the ten company-appointed retalers in my
territory.

I am currently working for an Information Management Solutions provider
as a Sales Manager. This company develops and markets Information
Management and Workflow software in five vertical markets. These markets are
Education, Government, Manufacturing & Distribution, Finance and Healthcare. My
responsibilities include selling Information Management Solutions in these
vertical markets. This is accomplished by: Qualifying a lead generated by the
Telemarketing department, travelling throughout the U.S. to give demonstrations
of the company�s software products, consulting with the prospective client to
suggest the appropriate Information Management and Workflow solution and last
but not the least, setting up a fully functional pilot system on site for the
prospective client to test for a period of no more than 30 days.

While doing my MBA in Marketing, I did two full-time paid internships. One was
at Sears Roebuck & Co. as a National Management Summer Intern. In addition to
learning about this important distribution channel, I analyzed the sales of the
Children�s Apparrel department. Based on my analysis, I made recommendations
regarding which product lines should be given more focus in order to increase
the sales contribution of the Children�s department to the whole store. I also
worked as an Account Intern at the Los Angeles office of Ogilvy & Mather
Worldwide, one of the world�s largest advertising agencies. As an Account
Intern, I got my feet wet in this competitive business by helping people in such
departments as Creative, Media, Production, Accounting, Research and Account
Management.

The above is a summary of what I have accomplished in the past, which reflects
upon what I can do in the future. But paper being two dimensional, it�s only a
partial reflection of what value I can add to your company. I assure you that
